Over 100 years ago, on a battlefield in Europe one digger made a promise to a dying mate to ‘take care of his family’. This became the Legacy promise, a promise that is still kept today.
Legacy now looks after over 30,000 veterans’ families across Australia.
When a veteran’s family face times of grief or hardship, Legacy is there to support them with any type of help they need – emotional, practical or financial.

Mia’s dad gave a lot in service to our nation. For almost 10 years, he served in the Australian Army’s 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, including on the frontline in East Timor.
Tragically, when Mia was six, her beloved father took his life.
Legacy has been part of Mia’s life since she lost her father. And for that, she is incredibly grateful.
